From Oppo to Apple, GST Effects on Smartphones
Govt. of
India exceeds the tax rate on mobile phones
from 12% to 18%. After that many companies appealed to correct the inverted duty to the Govt. which was not
accepted. Last month the Finance Minister Nirmala
Sitharaman announced an increase in
tax rate and the new goods and services tax on mobile phone is 18% which applied on April 1, 2020.
After the
lockdown period when you go to purchase a phone then you will not be able to
buy that on the price you have seen last time. People who already bought their
favorite mobile before the lockdown period were so lucky because after 1st April
2020 you will have to pay from ₹500/- to ₹5000/- for the smartphones in Indian
market.
We want
good products at a good price and companies do so but the balance is not equal
now which is very unexpected. All the smartphone brand companies are affected
by this new GST Hike. Here are the brands with new price lists.
NOKIA
Smartphone
manufacturing company HMD Global gives bad news by increasing the value of most
of their smartphones. Smartphones like Nokia 9 Pureview, Nokia 105, Nokia 2.2
and 4.2 changed its price. Corporate says that decision has been taken after
Govt. increases their GST tax.

The gst impact on smartphones changed the mobile industry. These days no brand launches their products due to the heavy coronavirus. Companies want to supply their products to their customers at an affordable price but they can’t. To recover the tax they have to increase the rates.
This is not a complete list. Some mobiles phones needs to be listed soon with new prices.
